This zine is mainly about the fact that I love the movie “Everything Everywhere All At Once” and want to talk about it every chance I get.

Covid is something, that if you’ve been living under a rock, has been affecting all of our lives. Some of us are still in quarantine and others have known people who have unfortunately passed away due to the virus. Either way, most of us have been now, maybe for the first time in forever, thinking and maybe even worried about the future.

While quarantined, all I could think about was what life would be like if this virus had never happened. Think about what I would be doing if I wasn’t afraid of going outside, let alone even allowed outside at the time. Now I think about who I would be if this pandemic had never happened.

I spent many days, sitting, daydreaming, and whose to say a daydream isn’t us slipping into the multiverse?

The Multiverse. Its concept is a big thing to understand and grasp, but surprisingly is one that I am predicting to see a lot more in our media as time goes on.

Marvel is setting up their entire phase 4 and 5 based on the multiverse but there is also a movie that has taken hold of my entire life since I saw it. That movie is Everything Everywhere All At Once. An A24 film made by the Daniels has been number 1 most reviewed on Letterboxd since its wide release. News that the Daniels also now has a major 5 year deal with Universal has also been due to the success of EEAAO.

With this major wave of success and trend, and the state of our current reality is one that I also wish I could escape, the amount of studios that will be trying to copy the success and massive concept of the multiverse is going to be jarring. I think there will be a few hits, whether its because they will get some “white boy of the month” that everyone is obsessed with the star in, or whether it’s actually pretty good, no studio/movie will recreate or even come close to the masterpiece that is EEAAO.

I am interested to see the attempt at the blatant knockoffs. I think as long as most of the films at their core are interested in showing life from an empathetic view of all of us who have had a rough couple of years, months, life, etc. then I believe that they will be able to have a chance on being a good film.
